Open up spit it out get the trash out of your mouth every time I turn around my dog is eating someone else’s garbage
and I’m sure you’re not a bad person you’re just trying to have fun with your friends drinking out of plastic cups with no regrets
yeah I’ve seen beauty and the ugliest of places
and I seen destruction caused by those with the best of intentions
when we’re all just acting out in our self interest
what is trash and what is treasure is just a matter of perception
so if the sky looks like it’s on fire it’s probably just the air pollution starting to show
and if the water looks dark and mysterious it’s probably the oil rigs leaking in the Gulf of Mexico
and as I pull that foil wrapper from my doggies mouth I remember all that glitters isn’t gold isn’t gold
open up spit it out get the trash out of your mouth every time I turn the TV on there’s someone spitting garbage and I’m sure you’re not a bad person
you’re just trying to make the world a better place for yourself for the people that pay you to speak their will
yeah I’ve seen beauty in the ugliest of faces and I’ve seen beautiful faces spewing the ugliest of hatred when we’re all just acting out in our own interest
what is fact and what is fiction is not a matter of opinion
and if one day you have children I hope they never listen to a single thing you say I hope they’re live life their own way
that they Make their own decisions and they question every single thing they see
I hope that they turn out just like me
Cause if the drug companies are poisoning us how dare you vaccinate your kids?
and if the GMO’s are poisoning us how dare we ever eat again?
The whole world is coming to an end, yeah the whole world is coming to an end
So let the games begin
the whole world is coming to an end and no one wants to talk about it, no one wants to think about global warming no
the whole world is coming to an end, but how about them Kardashians? did you see what she was wearing?
and if I could say this properly then I wouldn’t have to sing it
and if I can sing this beautifully then I wouldn’t have to scream it
but the whole world is coming to an end and no one wants to talk about it no one wants to hear me sing about it anymore

Sorry, Not Sorry

The hardest thing I did today was get up off the couch
the second hardest thing I did was say that out loud
I close my eyes and open them and wish that it would change anything but it’s still just the same old same old
and the more I watch the television the more I start to hate everything
and the more time I spend In this house alone the less I feel like a person
we all have our bad days but this is been a few bad months
every time I open Facebook up another friend is gone
I close my eyes and open them I wish I could forget it Oh I wish they would just get it wish my friends would just get it
And if I had one thing that I could say to you it would be that I am sorry
but I can only be myself to fall in for that I’m not sorry
just because you’ve done some bad things doesn’t make you a bad person you are not the summation of all of your past actions just because some bad things happen doesn’t mean that you deserve them just because you’ve done some bad things doesn’t make you a bad person
and if I had one thing that I could say to you it would be that I am sorry but I can only be myself to a fault and for that I’m not sorry

I Shot a Gun Today

I shot a gun today for the first time
I was surprised at how easy it was a man it made me feel so powerful I think I’m ready to start a revolution
we got elections coming up I don’t know who I wanna pick
a criminal or a racist pig it’s the same damn thing every couple years
I think it’s time to overthrow the government
so I was getting myself ready for the revolution getting myself ready for the revolution till I remembered I have work in the morning
the revolution will have to wait till after 5 PM I guess
spent the summer on the road
driving through the desert and mountains, sleeping on floors and couches
whoever said you needed money to travel didn’t have many friends
now I’m back in Pennsylvania sleeping until 11 AM my friends they call me lazy they just don’t get it
I’m dreaming up my plan for the revolution
so I’ve been getting myself ready for the cold cold winter getting myself ready for the cold cold winter
forgot to stop and watch leaves change color
watch them all fall down
I shot a gun today for the first time I was surprised at how easy it was
I think I’m gonna ask for one for Christmas, either that or a new guitar

I'm Okay

The house that I grew up in isn’t the house and I remember because the house that I grew up in it used to seem much bigger and the yard I used to get lost in when I was just a little kid became the yard I got drunk in with all my friends before I left for college
do you remember that night that Kourtney went and fell out of the tree House and we all thought she was surely dead until she started screaming “I’m Okay!” let’s get the crew together it’ll be just like 2007 again except that I’m not drinking and some of us are missing because
hell hath no fury like an entire generation that got strung out on heroin because we lost faith in everything and the friends that I grew up with aren’t the friends that I remember because the friends that I grew up with know that the good old days are over dead and gone
The town that I grew up in isn’t the town that I remember because the town that I grew up in it used to thrive and prosper but all the cars and all the houses were bought with money that you never really had so when the market tanked it all got taken from you by the banks and our parents just don’t get it yeah they’re so out of touch cause they grew up in days of picket fences and entry level jobs while all my friends are working overtime in coffee shops and restaurants because our degrees are useless if everybody has one
and hell hath no fury like an entire generation that’s stuck working service jobs to pay our student loan debt off and the house that you grew up in isn’ the house that you remember because the house that you grew up in got sold in a foreclosure to the banks
Hell have no fury like an entire generation not ashamed of working service jobs to pay our student loan debt off and the world that we grew up and won’t be in the world that we remember because we’re tearing it down brick by brick and creating something different
